Arpa

Arpa performs Bach against modular synthesizers. The visuals had to belong to both centuries without illustrating either.

Approach

We built a generative system that listens: harmonic intervals drive geometry, dynamics drive light. Each performance renders its own visuals, so no two concerts ever look the same.

Outcome

The system has accompanied fourteen performances and now runs unattended from a single small box at the mixing desk.
